Michael "Skinner" Ways
Michael Ways has been an audio engineer for Metro Mobile Recording since 1996. During this time, he provided engineering services for recording artists such as: The Who, The Tragically Hip, Smashing Pumpkins, Grammy-nominated artist Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Woodstock 99, Counting Crows, Moby, The Family Values Tour 99, Farm Aid 97, Dave Matthews, John Fogerty, Beck, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Lyle Lovett, and many others.
Michael has also produced and engineered independent releases for Shimmer "Live At Schuba's", and "Times Square", and The Ugly Truth "Monday Night Concert" and "See-Saw", as well as Relayer "Grander Vision".
Prior to working for Metro Mobile, Michael interned at The Chicago Recording Company, with artists Our Lady Peace, Jesus Lizard, Billy Corgan, and Oprah Winfrey. Michael provided second engineering duties for Chris Sheppard and Gus Mossler.
Michael attended and completed The Master Recording Program at The Conservatory of Recording Arts And Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. He also completed the audio program at Columbia College in Chicago. During his career, Michael has studied with engineering greats Malcolm Chisholm, Robert Scovell, Clif Norell, Kevin Becka, Danny Leake, and Scott Novak.
Michael is also a musician who enjoys playing drums and guitar. He currently drums with the group Build 53.
